Maelstrom
Maelstrom are a heavy chromer gang who operate out of the Burleson building in the Hot Zone since the Night City Holocaust EMP-fried and burnt many of the original members, they focus on replacing the weak flesh with chrome. They are fascinated with cyber-technologies and the Net. Its members frequently undergo extensive illegal body modifications, with many on the edge of developing cyberpsychosis, or already suffering from it. Their physical appearance is distinguished by their dehumanizing heavy cyberware augmentations and occult-inspired tattoos. Maelstrom Extremists often devise and conduct strange technoccult rituals. Shinobu (The first) reformed them into the Tyger Claws, a protection gang, and created a new public face the Kimmen Gumi. Moving most of the operation to Kabuki in the Watson development. However some remained behind, clinging to their more traditional structure, keeping, at lest for a short while, the name of Tyger’s Claw. They remained in Old Japantown under the leadership of “Tracer” Hong, the sub faction will likely not outlive him.

Kimen Gumi
(Tyger Claws Subgroup)
After the Fourth Corporate War, the Tyger Claws were reformed into a guardian gang tasked with protecting the Japanese community of Night City. The Claws formed the Kimen-Gumi as their ‘legitimate’ public image, becoming the face everyone knew about. This group had security contracts, and often deputized themselves as law enforcement in specific parts of the city, even collaborating with the NCPD on occasions. Its members wore Oni masks, and despite their frightening appearance, they were disciplined and loyal to their duties, as well as providing a good publicity for the gang as a whole. Beneath the surface, the Tyger Claws took their cut from the Kimen-Gumi's public activities, often insisting on protection fees. Both the Tyger Claws and Kimen-Gumi had offices in Kabuki and Old Japantown.

Red Chrome Legion
The Red Chrome Legion was formed as a posergang by a group of edgy teenagers who enjoyed cosplaying as Nazis. Like others before them, the Red Chromers soon became what they pretended to be, and the neo-fascist ideology grew to become the gang's identity, with its skinhead young members uniting around a certain hate group ideology. They spent their time terrorizing anything they thought wasn't "right," which in their case meant anyone that wasn't like them. All members wore uniforms, with flags and militaristic slogans being their rule. The Red Chromers also enchaned their bodies with so much cyberware that they were considered another boostergang, and thus another target for the Inquisitors.
During the Time of the Red, the Legion was an active group within the Combat Zones of Night City, acting the same as before while fighting against other gangs for territory. However, over the years they had began to talk a lot about "The Great Caesar," an almost messianic figure who would supposedly rise up from their ranks to conquer Night City and establish a "new American Empire free of the pollution of foreign filth and corrupt culture." The worst of Night City thought this was cool until they realized the Red Chromers were just a simple gang like any other, with their ambitions being nothing else than fascist fantasies..
