The Puppet Master
Relevance: Villain in the DMV Christmas Special 1
Hereditary: Formerly The Master (Yes, Exactly)
Occupation: Criminal Mastermind
Status: Foiled Again!

The Master was a Supervillain in the City of Cold Rocks, Nevada, teamed with his clone sister PsyClone, a telekinetic. It is strongly inferred that the two had an incestuous relationship The Master called “Perfect Super-Incest” Following her death at the hands of the Cold Rocks Super Squad The Master had a break down and was interred at a psychiatric facility. Records show that he died in this facility in late 2012.

The Puppet Master is his new persona, elaborately dressed and masked, he can control the actions of others, but cannot read minds or gain impressions from others. Nonetheless his powers are great, and he uses them with impunity. Is known to have a habit of mispronouncing words in an effort to sound more intelligent than he is, such as “Termity” in place of temerity.

I wanted to bring back The Master, but didn’t just want it to be The Master again, I wanted to more strongly define the character, so I had them go through an in-universe makeover as well.

Marionette
a.k.a: Marie Ynette
Relevance: Villain in the DMV Christmas Special 1
Occupation: Criminal, formerly Psychologist & Dominatrix
Status: At Large

Subject was born in Morro Rock, California to David Anderson and Jean Ynette. Its parents divorced a few years later, mother took her maiden name and moved to Los Angeles. Educated in public school, cheerleader, debate club. Attended Berkley. Expressed Lesbian, or Bi-Sexual tendencies. Graduated 2011, began work for California State Corrections. Undisclosed second income stream as Dominatrix working at "La Foi Hureax"

Manifested mutancy at age 21 when a patient of its went berserk during a session and attacked it, catalysing its powers. Discharged following the investigation for reasons of being a mutant.

Mutation causes long threads, barely visible under most circumstances, to rise upwards from its body, under most circumstances they extend approximately 2 feet up before terminating. When in use, they can extend significantly, observed up to 12 feet in length. Subject has been observed using these "strings" as whips, and tethers. It has been determined that it can control the actions of one in contact with these "strings." Through these filaments, it is capable of implanting sensations, thoughts, and motivations, or removing existing ones, there is also evidence it can control actions through them. Two of these filaments which extend from its head are capable of being used to read thoughts, but cannot extend as far as others. The therapeutic value of her ability range is obvious, however the current American Psychological Association rules prevent mutants from practicing.

Crimes seem related to reprisals for perceived wrongs

January 12, 2013 - Assault on police officer

February 27, 2013 - Subversion of a Department of Mutant Verification operation to apprehend mutant criminal.

Full disclosure, I made Marionette because I wanted a hench-woman for the Puppet Master, and I wanted her to use whips and be sexy. Everything else followed on from that. But I think it’t pretty creative, she has marionette strongs that raise up above her, like a puppet, it would be a cool character in the Rippaverse, feel free to take her, just drop a credit in. This is when someone tells me that there already IS a character called Marionette with strings like this… I’m afraid to go look.

Uber Rocket
a.k.a: Arnold Sernbach
Relevance: Villain in the Earth-60 Setting, Recurring
Occupation: Officer in the Red Banner
Status: At Large

Uber Rocket was born in America to a wealthy and preternaturally long lived media baron Mr. Sternbach (His first name has changed a lot) He was influenced in High School and University by Communist teachers and lecturers, however he was intelligent enough eventually realise what they were doing and became disgusted with America’s institutions which he saw as being captured by champagne communists, he saw a growing liberal rot in the American Culture and decided to leave. He eventually somehow wound up in East Germany, and was tragically injured in the head by a rampaging mutant called Kreiger. The government hospital doctors did their best, and he was restored now a fervent believer in the East German Communazi cause. He enlisted in the armed forces, and was eventually assigned to the Red Banner, a special Zeppelin division of the Communazi forces that is known for raiding the rest of the world. He mutant power allows him to accept adaptations and improvements seamlessly. His natural great size and strength was augmented incredibly and he became the most visible enforcer of the Red Banner. Uber Rocket is so powerful his abilities must be restrained beneath several layers of Control Arts systems. Being such a valuable asset, the Red Banner have devoted tremendous resources to his upkeep. Uber Rocket is usually deployed on missions where untold collateral damage is acceptable. It is documented that any time a means of attacking him succeeds, when next he appears, that attack vector has been accounted for. Despite all this, he still needs his extensive life support apparatus, which he wears on his back. Uber Rocket has no known weakness.

Uber Rocket was my first recurring villain concept, but my players just ripped off the backpack. So I integrated it. They attacked the hoses. So I improved them. They shattered his goggles. I toughened them. A psychic attacked… I gave him higher protections. They gained a Power Girl substitute, I strengthened him. Uber Rocket’s name is kind of naff, but I was 12. His power creep has been real, now, I wonder how the Red Banner doesn’t take over the world. Despite all of this, I forsee Uber Rocket will be a menace forever. You can’t kill him, I;ll just find a way to bring him back. Get folded, player.
